Overview

Panlongshan Great Wall is located in the Miyun county, 120 kilometers northeast of Beijing. It was first built in 556 during the Northern Qi Dynasty and was renovated and expanded in 16th century during the Ming Dynasty. As the first defense line north of Beijing，it had experienced frequent wars in history known as “the gateway to the northeast of Beijing.” This is the most solid and magnificent part of the Ming Great Wall and has been kept intact today as the best part of the original wall.

Itinerary
Day 1Panlongshan Great Wall

8:30 Pick up from the hotel lobby and drive to the Panlongshan Great Wall (about 2.5 hours drive).


11:0-13:00 Explore Gubeikou ancient town. There are several scenic spots in this ancient town, such as the Temple of The God of Wealth, Three-eye Wells, King of Medicine Temple, Ancient Royal Road, Memorial Hall of Defense of the Great Wall, etc. (visit about 1 hour). Enjoy an authentic country-style lunch at a local restaurant.


13:00-16:00 Enjoy hiking the Great Wall.  Panlongshan is part of the Gubekou Great Wall. With a length of 7km hiking, Panlongshan Great Wall's terrain slopes are gentler and wild but still well-preserved. The two-story General Tower and The 24-window Tower on Panlongshan are unique and stunning (hiking about 2-3 hours).


18:30 Back to the hotel and ended a wonderful day.
