Overview
Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall is the only lakeside Great Wall in Beijing. It is located in Huairou District, 80 kilometers (45 miles) northeast of Beijing. One of the unique features of Huanghuacheng Great Wall is that, it is partially submerged in water. The wall was built on the steep ridges of the mountains and was later flooded when the Jinhai Lake was created. As a result, part of the wall is now underwater, creating a stunning visual effect. Huanghuacheng Great Wall is the combination of the wall, lake, and mountains, which creates a picturesque scenery that is often referred to as the "Water Great Wall." This schedule and time are flexible, and you can choose to do it in the morning or afternoon.

Itinerary
Day 1Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall
8:00 Your guide will pick you up at the hotel lobby and drive to Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall (about 2 hours drive).
10:00-14:00 Enjoy the Great Wall Hiking. Huanghuacheng Great Wall was built in 1404 during the Ming Emperor Yongle’s reign. It stretched 12 km long, with 49 towers connecting Badaling Great Wall in the west and Jiankou Great Wall in the east. In summer, this section is covered in yellow flowers- Huanghua in Chinese, hence the name. Visitors can take a boat ride on the lake or hike along the wall to enjoy the breathtaking views. After hiking the Great Wall, your guide will suggest a good local restaurant of your preference, and you will pay on your own.
