8:30 Your guide will pick you up in the hotel lobby and drive to the Sacred Way (takes about a 1-hour drive). You can decide whether to do this half-day tour in the morning or afternoon.

9:30-10:00 Take a relaxing walk along the Sacred Way with weeping willow trees on both sides. There are vivid stone sculptures along the path, and each is carved out from a single block of marble stone, consisting of 24 animals and 12 civil and military officials representing the different ranks of the Ming Dynasty. From south to north, the Sacred Way lines the Stone Memorial Arch, Great Palace Gate, Pavilion of Divine Merit Stele, Stone Statues, and Lingxing Gate. (about 45mins).

10:00-12:00 Visit the Dinling Tomb.  The Ming Dynasty lasting 276 years from 1368 to 1644 （equivlent to the period of Renaissance in Europe). Dingling Tomb is the mausoleum of the 13th Emperor of the Ming Dynasty Wanli (ruled from 1572-1620) and his two empresses.  He ruled the country for 48 years, the loggest ruling period in the Ming Dyansty.  Being the most exquisite of all 13 mausoleums, it cost more than 8 million tales of silver, equaling two years of landed taxes for the whole country to build it.  This is the only excavated tomb that is open to the public.

Afterward, visit the nearby Dingling Tomb museum.  The museum houses an extensive collection of imperial artifacts, including pottery, jade, stone carvings, and other historical relics unearthed from Dingling Tomb.  Here you can learn about the construction of the tombs, the story of the Ming emperor and his family, and the culture and customs of the Ming Dynasty (about 1.5 hours).

13:00 Return to the hotel after ending a wonderful day (about one hour drive distance).
